The Company developed and implemented its automatic accounting system of energy consumption.
The report, automatically generated by the system, includes a set of indicators on the amount of energy consumed in absolute and relative terms. It allows to clearly and transparently differentiate the cost of energy resources consumed for production and administrative needs as a whole for the agro-industrial holding and each type of product separately.
The system performs a comparative analysis of energy consumption between business segments. It is important for the Company, as Astarta’s main economic activity is crop production, sugar production, soybean processing and dairy farming, and each of them has its peculiarities.
The ability to convert units of measurement in the report allows to quickly obtain baseline data for the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions Scope 1 (direct emissions from natural gas combustion, gasoline, diesel, etc.) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from purchased electricity).
Ukrainian and international standards and certificates of energy quality were used as the normative and technical base of the report.
-Astarta, as a European public company, continues its steady path to increasing business transparency and automatic accounting system of energy consumption is one of the effective mechanisms. From 2022, based on the report, we are already preparing non-financial statements of the Company, fully taking into account the requirements of the GRI302: energy standard, – said Yulia Bereshchenko, the Director of Development and Investor Relations, Astarta.
