26th sugar production season at Astarta

On September 10, Astarta launched its 26th sugar production season across its processing facilities. The first plants to commence operations are in the Khmelnytskyi and Vinnytsia regions: the Narkevychi sugar plant, now in its 72nd production season, and the Zhdanivka sugar plant, marking a record 173rd season. The Hlobyne sugar plant in the Poltava region will follow with its 114th production season. All five of the holding’s sugar plants are expected to be fully operational by early October.

At the same time, Astarta’s agricultural subsidiaries, which supply the bulk of raw materials for the holding’s plants, continue harvesting sugar beets across approximately 34kha. As part of its machinery renewal program this year, the company purchased advanced Ropa Tiger beet harvesters, now operating at six of its enterprises. These modern machines significantly accelerate and improve harvesting efficiency, streamline team operations, and reduce soil compaction, thereby helping preserve its fertility.

In total, Astarta has invested nearly USD6m in the acquisition of modern beet harvesters. This fleet renewal is part of a broader company initiative to upgrade agricultural machinery in 2025. The total investment in this program has already reached approximately USD22m.
