Astarta launched the 2024 sowing campaign. The agricultural subsidiary Dobrobut was the first to start sowing winter rapeseeds in the Poltava region. In total, the Company plans to plant 12kha under this crop.
– Compared to last year, we reduced the area under rapeseeds by 12%, but only due to crop rotation. We will continue to focus on growing this crop. For the Poltava region, which always faces the risk of unfavourable weather conditions in summer, winter crops are the least risky and allow us to achieve good yields. In addition, we have seen that early sowing brings positive results. Therefore, this year we are also starting to sow early wherever possible. At the same time, in the western regions of our operations, we will begin planting a little later due to the weather-related delay in harvesting the winter wheat that is the predecessor, – said Vadym Skrypnyk, Astarta’s Director for Agriculture Production
