Astarta Continues Investing in the Development of Dairy Farming

Astarta continues to develop its livestock segment. As part of a large-scale reconstruction of its dairy farms, the company has commissioned another facility for housing heifers aged 2 to 6 months in the Poltava region.

The facility has been reconstructed in compliance with requirements for space planning, stocking density, microclimate, and sanitary and hygienic standards. These measures reduce dependence on external resources and make the farm more autonomous.

“Astarta systematically invests in the modernization of livestock infrastructure, improvements in animal welfare, the application of modern technologies, and increased energy efficiency. The commissioning of each new facility is another step toward strengthening the competitiveness of our livestock operations, implementing best practices in herd welfare, and reinforcing the company’s production base” , said Yaroslav Kushnir, Director of Astarta’s Livestock Department. Ярослав Кушнір.

This project is part of a broader infrastructure modernization program that Astarta continues to implement throughout 2025. The company is upgrading its farms, introducing new animal housing technologies, improving energy efficiency, and working to enhance herd genetics. These measures will contribute to increased production efficiency. In total, over the first 11 months of 2025, Astarta invested approximately UAH543m in the livestock segment. Last year, around UAH300m was invested in the reconstruction and modernization of the segment.

A systematic approach to livestock development delivers consistent results—Astarta remains the largest producer of industrial milk in Ukraine. This year, the company’s efforts received dual recognition: the UAdairy Awards 2025 for leadership in industrial raw milk production, and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Economic Development for its contribution to the country’s food security.
