Digitalization is transforming every area of business, and the agricultural sector is no exception. At Astarta, implementing technological solutions is one of the company’s key priorities. For over seven years, this direction has been driven by the in-house IT company AgriChain.
Natalia Bogacheva, Director of AgriChain, shared the company’s experience in applying artificial intelligence to core agricultural production processes on the Forbes Agro stage:

“Digitalization is one of Astarta’s key priorities. We’ve long been moving toward digital transformation: developing and implementing modules of the AgriChain platform — a unified agri-management system that currently includes 12 functional areas. We’ve also created a comprehensive AI strategy, are integrating AI tools into internal processes, and constantly improving them. Our goal is to ensure these innovations are user-friendly, scalable, and support data-driven operational and strategic decision-making.”
A particular focus is on using AI in crop production. Through drones, computer vision technologies, and neural networks, the company monitors crop conditions, forecasts yields, detects diseases, pests, and unwanted vegetation. This significantly improves the accuracy of agronomic forecasting and speeds up decision-making in the field. These technologies are also being applied in sugar production and livestock management.

Most importantly, digital tools empower the team. AI and digital systems do not replace experts — they free up their time for deeper analytics, strategic planning, and growth in a constantly changing environment.
