Astarta’s Board of Directors approved a new investment project to build a multiseed crusher, including soybeans and rapeseeds, in the Khmelnytsky region. The crusher’s planned annual processing capacity is 400kt of oilseeds.
The project is estimated at USD76m. Commissioning of the facility is planned for 2026.
‘Astarta continues strengthening its position in processing by investing into new production facilities. The growing demand for soybean products in the EU opens up new opportunities, and we are ready to implement them using our experience and expertise. The new multiseed crusher will allow us to expand our range of ingredients for the feed industry,’ said Mr.Viacheslav Chuk, Astarta’s Chief Commercial and Strategic Marketing Director.
The project which capitalises on Astarta’s existing infrastructure and aims to contribute to the development of the agricultural ecosystem in the Western region of operations, was also supported by the head of the Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration, Mr. Serhiy Tiurin, who recently visited the proposed project plot. In addition to the infrastructure development, the new plant will generate additional tax revenues to the local budget of the Khmelnytskyi region and create new jobs for the community.
‘Astarta’s team is already actively working on its implementation. Just today, we finalised the agreement with the chosen equipment and technology provider. We are also waiting for the Narkevytska territorial community’s decision to allocate land plot for the project. According to our estimates, this project meets the requirements of the Law ‘On State Support for Investment Projects with Significant Investments in Ukraine’, so we intend to apply for the state support to speed up its implementation,’ added Mr.Viacheslav Chuk.
