Astarta’s agricultural subsidiaries have completed the 2025 spring sowing campaign, responding swiftly and effectively to the season’s challenging weather conditions.
“This year’s spring campaign occurred under significant climate-related stress — abnormally high temperatures in March followed by frosts in April. Low soil moisture reserves after winter and their rapid decline due to early warming required our teams to act quickly and in a highly coordinated manner. Within a short window of favourable conditions, our units carried out the full range of spring fieldwork and completed the sowing in the shortest possible time,” noted Andriy Zahorulko, the Director of Crop Production, Logistics, and Mechanization at Astarta.
The final crop structure for 2025 is as follows: sugar beets – 34kha; soybeans – 56kha; winter wheat – 46kha; sunflower – 29kha; rapeseeds – 11kha; corn – 14kha; and organic crops – 2kha.
Astarta’s agribusiness teams are now focused on crop care activities: continuous monitoring of crop conditions, moisture levels, and the phytosanitary status of the fields. The production teams are also actively preparing for the upcoming early grains harvesting campaign, which will begin in less than two months.
We extend our sincere gratitude to every employee who contributed to this strategically important stage. Together, we continue to demonstrate the strength of teamwork and the resilience of Ukraine’s agricultural sector in the face of ongoing challenges.
