The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development awarded Astarta Gold in the Climate Resilience category for its activities related to achieving climate goals. The award ceremony occurred at the Sustainability Event at the Annual Meeting in May 14th in Yerevan.

The EBRD’s Sustainability Awards are presented annually, with three nominations and GOLD/SILVER/BRONZE award winners are recognised in each of six categories. These are awarded to partner companies committed to making sustainable development a key priority in their operations and demonstrating outstanding achievements in sustainable management among projects financed by the EBRD.

– The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is our valuable partner, financially supporting our key investment projects for over fifteen years of cooperation. In 2023, Astarta became the first company in Ukraine to receive an EBRD loan with an innovative blended finance structure linked to climate change-related targets, considering our commitment to reduce the company’s greenhouse gas emissions by 44% by 2030. To this end, we have approved a decarbonisation strategy, which, among other things, includes scaling up regenerative farming practices, improving energy efficiency and using alternative energy sources. It is an ambitious plan and a serious challenge, but we will do everything possible to achieve it. We are sincerely grateful to the EBRD team for this high recognition, as it shows that our climate efforts are seen, recognised and supported, – said Viktor Ivanchyk, Founder and CEO of Astarta.
