Astarta continues to invest in renewing its agricultural machinery fleet. As part of the 2025 investment program, over USD21m is allocated for new equipment purchases. To date, contracts have already been signed for 150 units of new machinery, including heavy tractors, sprayers, self-propelled sugar beet harvesters, seeding complexes, precision planters, tillage equipment, and other specialized machinery.

Some of this equipment has already been delivered to the company’s production sites and will be actively used in the spring fieldwork of the current season. These upgrades will significantly enhance agricultural production efficiency, optimize soil cultivation and harvesting processes, and contribute to soil health preservation.

“The acquisition of modern machinery is a key element of our decarbonization strategy, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by utilizing more fuel-efficient equipment and implementing precision and regenerative farming practices. To minimize the environmental impact of agricultural production, Astarta continues to scale up these initiatives by reducing the number and depth of soil cultivation operations and expanding cover crop areas. In 2024 Astarta applied reduced tillage and increased cover crops. Additionally, variable-rate and localized application of mineral fertilizers, as part of precision farming, ensures optimal fertilizer use. When fertilizers are applied locally during primary tillage, fuel consumption is significantly reduced due to fewer technological operations. The renewed machinery fleet will enable us to respond more effectively to changing weather conditions, enhance economic efficiency, and reduce reliance on external services,” said Andriy Zagorulko, Director of the Crop Production, Logistics, and Mechanization Department.
