Despite the ongoing full-scale war, Astarta continues not only to develop its business operations but also to implement long-term social initiatives aimed at supporting and strengthening the social and economic resilience of local communities.
On September 9, the company shared its experience during an online session of the EU-Ukraine Focus Group on Business Cooperation. This platform brought together representatives of the European Commission, business associations, donor organizations, clusters, trade missions, regional authorities, and leading companies from both Ukraine and the EU. The meeting gathered nearly 250 participants to discuss investment opportunities, the development of new economic partnerships, and ways to support Ukrainian businesses during wartime.
Viacheslav Chuk, Commercial and Strategic Marketing Director at Astarta, presented the company’s response to wartime challenges and highlighted the key initiatives to maintain market stability and support communities:
“Astarta remains a trusted partner for small farming enterprises, serving as an intermediary between them and large clients seeking reliable and high-quality suppliers. We also run a number of grant programs to support the development of small and medium-sized businesses, provide training for entrepreneurs, and help build resilient communities. Over the past four years, together with our partners, we have invested UAH200m in these efforts. As a result, 570 entrepreneurs across seven regions of Ukraine have received financial and educational support.”
Business can be a driver of a long-term positive change. At a time when many Ukrainians are experiencing stress and trauma, and the pressure on the social welfare system is increasing, building resilience and self-reliance within communities becomes a strategic investment in the country’s recovery:
“Corporate social responsibility has been a core part of Astarta’s mission since the company was founded. Since the start of the full-scale war, our initiatives have provided critical support for small and medium-sized businesses, local communities, internally displaced persons, veterans, and their families,” added Viacheslav Chuk.
Astarta views participation in international dialogue platforms not only as an opportunity to share its experience but also as a way of contributing to joint solutions and promoting positive change. Socially responsible business plays a vital role in fostering community resilience and driving the country’s long-term development.
