Kyiv, February 7. – The selection of the educational grant program “Brave 4.0” winners has been completed. The program supports veterans, war disabled, family members of combatants, veterans, war prisoners, and missing and fallen defenders who want to develop their businesses and gain new knowledge in entrepreneurship and agrotechnologies.
The fourth wave of the project implemented since 2022, covered 7 regions, and almost 200 entrepreneurs applied. All of them presented business ideas, each of which had its own special value and potential for positive impact on the community.
The competition jury carefully selected participants first for training, to which more than 100 entrepreneurs passed the technical selection. Within the two-day session, the participants learned to write business plans, expanded their knowledge of entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
Having analysed the strengths and weaknesses of each business idea, the experts selected 50 winners.
What the winners get?
- Grants as production equipment valued up to UAH280k to develop business.
- Educational support: comprehensive theoretical and practical training “Agrostart for Veterans” programme and business training “Basis of Entrepreneurship in the Agricultural Sector” at the leading Ukrainian educational institutions, as well as technological training from Vodafone to automate business and management using AI and big data analytics.
- Internships at Astarta’s agricultural subsidiaries and other grant project winners.
- Business projects support and monitoring.
“Brave 4.0” aims to socio-economically engage veterans and their families and develop socially responsible small and medium-sized businesses, which will contribute to the creation of new jobs and strengthen the economy and self-sufficiency of communities during the war and in the post-war recovery period. Each winner, after receiving grant equipment, undertakes to create at least 1 job within 3 months and transfer 5% of the grant amount in the form of food for their community.
The project created due to Astarta and Raiffeisen Bank’s partnership, provides educational, financial, and practical assistance for small business development in Ukraine. Since 2024, the group Vodafone Ukraine group has joined the cooperation. The implementation partner is the Charity Foundation “Believe in Yourself.
