Astarta, as a member of the business delegation of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine (FEU), joined the discussion on strategic directions for deepening trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the context of Ukraine’s candidate status for EU membership.
During meetings with key directorates of the European Commission, Members of the European Parliament, the leadership of the European Economic and Social Committee, the business association Business Europe, and the Mission of Ukraine to the EU, a comprehensive study was presented on the negotiation position of Ukrainian businesses. The study was conducted with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and the Confederation of Danish Industry.
The joint position of Ukrainian businesses emphasizes that deeper economic integration between Ukraine and the EU will unlock more significant opportunities for sustainable business development and economic resilience, including:
- Scaling up sustainable production chains;
- Increasing non-raw material exports;
- Accelerating technological development;
- Creating new jobs;
- Attracting international investments and accelerating the country’s post-war recovery.
“Astarta is a strategic partner of European companies in the food and energy sectors, so we must develop a sustainable agro-industry in line with European standards. We already supply high-quality and safe products to the European market, adhering to transparency, production traceability, and sustainable development principles. By consistently strengthening the agricultural sector, we contribute to Ukraine’s economic resilience, expand export opportunities for domestic producers, and facilitate integration into the European economic ecosystem,” said Yulia Bereshchenko, Sustainable Business Development and IR Director at Astarta.
