Astarta-Kyiv and the State Employment Service of Ukraine announce a new intake for the “Adult Intern Week” \u2014 an internship programme for people aged 50 and above. The programme offers participants an opportunity to return to active professional life, gain hands-on experience within the company under the guidance of mentors, and potentially continue their employment after the programme concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Astarta, internships for people aged 50+ are part of the company’s approach to responsible hiring and human capital development. In times of demographic change, it is essential for businesses to recognise the potential of everyone who wants to work. Currently, 74% of Ukrainian companies report staff shortages, while experienced candidates frequently face age-related bias and need support to re-enter the workforce. Engaging all generations in the labour market is not only a matter of social responsibility \u2014 it is an effective anti-crisis tool for business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Adult Intern Week” offers a comfortable pathway back to work, helping participants rebuild confidence in their professional value with mentor support at every step. Because experience is an advantage, not a barrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In 2025, during the pilot ‘Adult Intern Week’, 15 out of 20 participants aged 50+ were offered employment at Astarta upon completing the internship. We believe that work should be a space for growth at any age. Since the start of the full-scale war, the State Employment Service has helped 1.5 million people find employment, and approximately one third of them are aged 50+.
